To add liquidity to Uniswap, you need to deposit both an amount of ETH and the corresponding amount of tokens into a pool. The pool then allows users to trade these tokens directly with each other. In order to incentivize users to provide liquidity, the protocol gives them a portion of the trading fees as rewards.
If you want to add liquidity to Uniswap, you first need an Ethereum wallet that supports ERC20 tokens. We recommend using MetaMask, which is a free browser extension that lets you store and manage your ETH and ERC20 tokens easily. Once you have installed MetaMask, head over to and connect your wallet.
Once connected, choose the token pair that you want to provide liquidity for from the list of available pools. For this example, we will choose the WETH/DAI pair. Then enter the amount of ETH and DAI that you want to deposit into the pool, and click on “Deposit”.
You will then be asked to confirm the transaction in MetaMask. Once confirmed, your ETH and DAI will be deposited into the Uniswap pool, and you will be able earn trading fees as people trade between these two tokens!
